Date: 23-August-2008.
Time: 3:00pm to 5:30pm
Venue: Arrupe Hall, Ashirvad, #30, St. Marks Road Cross, Opposite SBI, St. Marks Road, Bangalore.

Description

These principles are in essence one and inseparable. The three jewels are the objects of refuge, namely, Buddha, Dharma & Sangha. The three jewels of refuge are important to all levels of Buddhist practices. The principle of the three roots is distinct to the practice of Vajrayana. The three roots are the sources for transformation. Lama (guru) is the source of blessings, Yidam (deva) is the source of spiritual attainments (siddhi), Khandro (dakini) and protector (dharmapala) are the sources of enlightened activities. In the three roots, especially in the Guru, the three objects of refuge are innate. This teaching will give a general idea about how Guru and deity practices come together in Vajrayana.

Suitability: Those who already have a preliminary idea about the basic principles of Buddhism can appreciate this topic better.
